DOHA, Qatar (AP) - Qatar says it is «astonished» by Ethiopia's cutting of diplomatic relations and is denying Addis Ababa's accusations that it is hurting Ethiopia's security.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry says Ethiopia's accusations are «baseless» and dangerous,» and that Ethiopia is trying to justify its own «wrong policies.
The ministry comment, reported Tuesday night on the Qatari state news agency, comes a day after Ethiopia announced it was cutting ties with the Arab Gulf nation. Ethiopia cited Qatar's relationship with archenemy Eritrea and accused Qatar of fomenting instability.

On 21 April 2008, the TPLF regime issued a press release in connection to its severing of diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar.

The measure taken was indeed shocking and caused all who followed closely to inquire as to why the ‘measure’ came to be.
