Joseph
Charles Wilson, IV (born
November 6,
1949)
is currently the Vice Chairman of Jarch Capital, LLC, a firm
focused on African natural resources. He is a retired
diplomat of the
United States Foreign Service, who was posted to
African nations and
Iraq
during the
George H. W. Bush administration. During the
George W. Bush administration, after his retirement from
foreign service, Wilson became known to the general public as a
result of his controversial
op-ed "What I Didn't Find in Africa," published in the
New York Times on
July
6,
2003, four months after the
2003 invasion of Iraq began. In it Wilson documents his
February 2002 mission to
Niger
on behalf of the
CIA to investigate whether Iraq purchased or attempted to
purchase
yellowcake from Niger since the late 1990s, pertaining to the
2002–2003
Iraq disarmament crisis, and, based on that experience, he
concludes that, in justifying the
Iraq War, the
Bush administration "twisted" at least "some of the
intelligence related to Iraq's
nuclear weapons program ... to exaggerate the Iraqi threat."[2] |

A stigma we
will assist to create if we don't act now! |
If
the threat of Jendayi E. Frazer turns
into action and Eritrea is placed on the list, not
only will our people in the motherland suffer but so will we
,our children, grandchildren ...
"Hey dad, why are they teasing me of being a terrorist or
sponsor or ..whatever at school? The know my parents are
from Eritrea. What is going on? "
...we will be stigmatized. Especially those of us who
are Eritrean Moslems. For a very long time, we will be
"teased" by our friends, employers ...may be denied
employment in sensitive areas....may be tactically let go
from our sensitive places of employment..
Ethiopians have not been able to remove the stigma of the hunger of 1984.
"So, are you guys still starving?" A question that
angers present day Ethiopians. |
