A SUCCESSFUL FESTIVAL IN BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

 

Saturday 9th of July was a great entertainment day in Brisbane, Australia. The Eritrean Community in Queensland celebrated its Annual Multicultural Festival, which its aim was to reflect Eritrean culture and tradition with entertainment program.

The festival was a social and cultural event. The Eritrean community in Queensland is non political and non profitable association and its aim is to promote unity and harmony between Eritrean community and to strength the relationship of our community with other communities around us. Therefore the festival was tuned with this aim.

The Eritrean cultural group with artist Mr. Habteab and Mr. Tesfaldet presented a wonderful performance of cultural dance of Tigrina, Tigre, Saho and Kunama. Young Artist Ahmed Abubaker (Ahmed Philips) from Melbourne has participated with his wonderful guitar singing about peace and harmony.

There was input from other communities to support the Eritrean Annual Festival. Cultural groups from Aborigines, Islanders, Song line choir, Sierra Leon, Ethiopia Bahl group, Liberia, Russia and Cuba had presented colorful performances.

The Eritrean Women led by Ms. Saba Abraham had provided the traditional food and coffee, Doctor Tuquabo Tesfamicheal has organized the cultural exhibition and played a master ceremony role with the assistance of Mr. Alli Ibrahim.

The festival was officially opened by Lord Mayor of Brisbane and it had continued from 1:00 pm until late.
